Privacy

Math Notebook is local-first. It has no account system, advertising, personal tracking, or cloud notebook database. The public website uses Cloudflare's cookie-free Web Analytics for aggregate page views and performance measurements; analytics does not receive notebook content, equations, or microphone recordings.

Notebook storage

Your pages are stored in this browser's local IndexedDB database. They leave the app only when you deliberately export, copy, or upload them. Clearing browser site data can remove notebooks, so export important work.

Microphone and speech

Voice input starts only after you open Voice and grant microphone permission. Browser speech recognition may use the browser vendor's speech service. If recognition is unavailable or permission is denied, Math Notebook reports that honestly and creates no fabricated transcript.

Mathematics and assistant

Deterministic parsing, page grouping, calculations, and supported CAS operations run in the browser. Private on-device AION downloads Qwen3 8B and keeps prompts on your device. Fast online AION sends the current page context and your question to Math Notebook's same-site Cloudflare function only when you select Fast online and explicitly ask it; Cloudflare Workers AI processes that request. Your notebook database remains in the browser and Math Notebook does not store the request or answer in a server-side notebook database.

External feedback

If you choose to report an issue through an external tracker, do not include private notebook content. That submission is governed by the tracker's own privacy terms.
